Today’s BuzzwordToday’s buzzword is ‘bailout’. Bailouts have already been granted to General Motors and Wall Street. One might expect the Healthcare or Education industry to be next in line, right? Wrong! In the on the deck circle is non other than, drum roll please…. the porn industry!
Hustler’s Larry Flynt and Girls Gone Wild CEO Joe Francis are requesting a five billion dollar bailout from the U.S. Government. Apparently their business is struggling due to the economic crisis and all of the free stuff on the Internet.
In addition to my personal ethics and morals, I find this appalling as a tax payer. However, consider the words of Larry Flynt: "Americans can do without cars and such but they cannot do without sex.” Who could argue with such wisdom?
If this bailout is granted, every greedy, irresponsible, and perverse entity conceivable will have received large sums of money to save their businesses. What’s next, are we going to grant bailouts to pedophiles? Come to think of it, isn’t Michael Jackson broke?
